De Broc arrives this evening

It is a slightly damp, chilly February day in Les Sables d’Olonne – actually pouring with rain – where Bertrand de Broc is expected late this afternoon or early evening around 1900hrs where his timing should be perfect for the channel.

His finish will be a fitting conclusion to a great weekend in the home town of the Vendée Globe where three skippers finished on consecutive days. De Broc has between 18 and 25kts of wind and has been making between 12 and 15kts on the way in he has about 65 miles to go this morning.

And then there will be about seven or eight days before Tanguy de Lamotte is expected. He is about 400 miles SW of the Azores and making 10-11kts northwards in the tradewinds. Starting to go a little east of the azores hi

And Alessandro Di Benedetto has about 2400 miles to go and is at the latitude of the Cape Verde islands and is expected around the 18th or 19th of February depending on the evolution of the Azores high
