Captain’s log, T. de Lamotte: "Completely different atmosphere"

Hi all,

I'm glad I'm finally done with the West Pacific gate! The atmosphere on board is completely different and that feels great. I've fixed myself a nice dinner with vegetables and meat cooked by my godfather, and I even had a glass of red wine to celebrate!

It's fun to see how every part of the race becomes a goal, a landmark, and how gates actually give rhythm to our race…

I'm happy to see I'm now heading towards the last Vendée Globe ice gate and I should round Cape Horn in less than 3,000 miles. It may look like a short distance but there's still a long way to go. Routing shows me getting there in nine days!

I'm enjoying what I'm experiencing right now because I have the feeling I may miss the Southern Ocean…

Time for a nap before the sun comes up!

Later,
Tanguy.
