150 miles off Vigo (Spain) and less than 500 miles from Les Sables d'Olonne this morning, Alessandro Di Benedetto (Team Plastique) is still progressing towards the north-east towards Cape Finisterre in a northwest wind going from 10 to 15 knots which should gradually ease off around 10 knots and essentially changed direction (west-northwest). The last competitor still in the Vendée Globe race in 11th position, sails at 10 knots, at the 8am TU ranking this morning (9 am French time), after the strong growth of the previous days.
The latitude of Cape Finisterre should be reached early in the afternoon, around 2pm before the wind falls, between 5 and 10 knots in the evening, around 8pm. The wind will then come from west-southwest before starting to rise on Wednesday noon. Conditions a little less smooth than expected, which could allow the Team Plastique skipper to arrive at night between Thursday and Friday. More details on the estimation of arrival soon.
