There is a 30-knot wind and 3 to 4-metre swell at the moment. You just can't stay out there without an oilskin and a mask on. And when I'm in the cabin, I have to be on my hands and knees.
This morning, I had to do an emergency manoeuvre because my genoa was only half-out and stuck. It was tough but it all went well eventually, the sail is fine and neatly stored in the sails peak. I'm glad I'll be able to rely on it later so I'm relieved it's not damaged. What has been damaged in the process, though, is my fingers, and I also have a bruise on my chest. But nothing too serious, I didn't have to call "Jean-Yves 911" (editor's note: race physician Jean-Yves Chauve).
The sun is out, which is a real good news, even though I can't really go out on my terrasse. It's been a little chilly at night, we're not in tropical weather yet.
