(Article) – Miranda Merron looking for speed

Morning,
Having spent a great deal of time trying to work out why the boat speed was so unimpressive, I think it may just be that I am in the wrong place, too close to the high. It certainly doesn't even feel like the 12 knots registering 30 metres above the deck. The wind will eventually get here. And eventually there will probably be too much wind.

Instead of doing what I had planned for my Saturday (heat enough water for a shower, film stuff I spent all afternoon via whatsapp yesterday with Matthieu Michou from Watt & Sea (thank you to Matthieu for sacrificing his Saturday afternoon) to try and find why the starboard hydrogenerator isn't charging properly and making a noise like a strangled cat. The hydrogenerator is pretty essential to charging the boat's batteries to power all the systems. More work on that today. There is on average at least one issue or another a day. Tedious and tiring. I don't dare calculate statistically how many more issues I can expect over the coming months
