(En direct du bord) – Miranda Merron Crosses The Equator for the Ninth Time

Made it to the Southern Hemisphere. I think this was my 9th equator crosssing, and at least the 9th for this fine vessel.

There was a good squall just before the line, just to remind me who is in charge here.

My first equator crossing was 22 years ago on Royal SunAlliance on our Jules Verne Trophy attempt, skippered by Tracy Edwards. The court of Neptune sat and found all of us first-timers guilty of whatever charges were laid against us. The punishment was a coating in leftover freeze-dried slops which had been carefully kept aside in the tropical heat just for the occasion. Sam Davies was also part of that incredible team of women.
