(Actualité) – Pip Hare: “A Transatlantic is not enough for me, running a marathon is never enough”

English skipper Pip Hare races the evergreen Superbigou, the Rolland design which was originally built by Bernard Stamm and friends for the 2000 Vendée Globe. Alan Roura sailed the boat to 12th in the last race. Now Hare, who is a career offshore sailor but who came late in life to solo racing, steps up for the ultimate solo ocean racing challenge blessed with the support of the US company Medallia who came on board only in July. Hare, 46, has followed a classical route to the Vendée Globe racing Class40 and Mini before taking on the well known IMOCA early in 2019, sailing her boat solo for the first time solo in February last year. And so it has been a full on, intense 19 month build up. Now she just wants to be going.
