He grew up in Le Havre where his dreams of competing on the big ocean races were seeded as a schoolboy wandering among the Transat Jacques Vabre. Although no one in his family sails, he has traced a remarkable course in solo racing including four podium finishes on La Solitaire du Figaro (2 x second 2 x 3rd). With his new generation Verdier design he won the Transat Jacques Vabre with Yann Elies and finished second in the Vendée Arctique. Meet Charlie Dalin.
