Cherish these days. For the Vendée Globe sailors this is the last Christmas and the last New Year before the start of the legendary solo non-stop race around the world.
In one year’s time the sailors will be fully engaged with the elements in the middle of the Indian Ocean or the Pacific Ocean. Bearing in mind that on the last edition of the race Armel Le Cleac’h passed Cape Horn on 23rd December, 47 days after the start, we would expect the leaders to have already passed the notorious Cape by Christmas.
