(Actualité) – Bermudes 1000 Makes Winners All Round

The Bermudes 1000 Race delivered many benefits. It lifted the curtain on the 2019 competition season. It was a great opportunity for six rookies, or ‘bizuths’ to do their first IMOCA solo races on their 60 foot monos, and – perhaps most important of all – it allowed them to clock up 2000 IMOCA Globe series miles which will be essential experience as well as steps towards selection for the 2020 Vendée Globe.

For Race Direction, Jacques Caraes, Guillaume Evrard and Hubert Lemonnier, it was a good practice for the team which will direct the 2020 Vendée Globe. For the "DC", responsible for all the sporting parameters and for the safety of sailors, the outcomes of this first IMOCA Globe Series 2019 test proved very positive in many ways.
