Captain’s Log – Tanguy de Lamotte: "Tinsel of seaweed"

Hello, hello,

This morning, it's Christmas. Christmas earlier here than you there! But I started the day by storing the gennaker at sunrise, going under Solent.
When I did my usual verification on the boat I discover a beautiful "tinsel" of seaweed on the keel! It must have been there since yesterday afternoon, because I was feeling a different vibration onboard… I decided to make a reverse now, because after it will be more complicated. My "tinsel" moved quickly and I resume my journey.

Besides, I have a special thought for all the Vendée Globe skippers who spend Christmas on dry land.

Albatrosses join me to wish you Happy Christmas Holidays! I also have a thought for the one who are going to spend Christmas alone but who have not chosen it, unlike me!

I have a little bottle of champagne and a small bottle of red wine for the Cape Leeuwin. But I'll cross the Cape on Christmas Eve, so it might be too much!

Have a good day everyone.

Tanguy
