Captain’s Log – Dominique Wavre: "An impression of softness"

This morning, an impression of softness after a rough day yesterday, the wind dropped a little. It went from 30/40 knots to 25/30 knots, the waves are rounder and less aggressive and there is still a nice 15 °C in the boat.

Walking onboard becomes easier, I can finally let go of the handles and stop to move like a mountaineer… Inside there are around 12 handles and handrails! Outside there are still a few powerful grains, I able to deal with them but I must remain vigilant. I watch their movements on the radar. It’s very helpful at night.

Maneuvers are performed according to the discretion of the grains, some big surfs and boat is sometimes doing crazy things. Our journey continues in a kind of well-oiled routine with the pleasant feeling of doing one with the boat.

Late night and dawn music of course! Bruce Springsteen, Mozart, Grand Corps Malade, Patty Smith…

The wind will slow down gradually, even if the file indicates that it should last all day.

See you

Dom
