Good Morning! I have made some good miles towards the East and tomorrow, I will finally be right in front of a low pressure system that will give me some good wind to do some fast miles. You have to be careful down here when the meteorological report says that the wind might be 25, as it can be 40 knots! And squalls can sometimes complicate things if you have a lot of sail area up. But this is the normal state of play down here, and you have to adapt and try to get out and into the Pacific as soon as possible.
A week ago Mirabaud was 800 miles ahead of me, and I hope that tomorrow the distance will be more like 250. This is a great motivation for me to keep focused and sailing well.
It seems that the group in front of me is in a kind of no-man’s land with very variable winds, and they won’t be doing too many miles in the next 24 hours. We will later all be in the same system so it will be difficult to make up any miles…
