Today has been a night with light and very shifty winds, but in the last few hours, I have been able to sail a good heading with good speed.
After gybing this morning, I saw that there were about 40 cm missing from the rudder. The area which has broken is a kind of ‘crash area’ (additional piece) which serves to protect the area if there is a collision. So it has really done its job! The impact I suffered a few days ago was on the starboard rudder and it wasn’t until I gybed that I could see it, as the endoscope wasn’t able to.
