Alessandro Di Benedetto (Team Plastique) crossed the Sables d'Olonne finish line on Friday and took the eleventh place of the race, 26 days, 17 minutes and 50 seconds after the 2012-2013 Vendée Globe winner François Gabart. This is the smallest gap between the first and the last skipper in the Vendée Globe history. The previous record was 34 days between 1996-1997 edition winner Christophe Auguin and Catherine Chabaud, 6th and last in 140 days, 4 hours and 38 minutes.
