More wind for Alessandro Di Benedetto

At the 9 am ranking (8 am GMT), Alessandro Di Benedetto (Team Plastique) is still a little more than 400 miles away from Les Sables d'Olonne, because of a no-wind night. Now at the latitude of Corunna, 70 miles away from the Spanish coast, the Franco-Italian skipper is now sailing faster again and has slipped a little over 11 knots for the last hour in a southeast wind, which should gradually increase and move south around 1pm (10-15 knots) before slackening again in the early evening, falling to 10 knots, with a rainy sky. The next night, the wind will shift to the south and south-east and will increase lightly (15 knots) in the early morning, still under a cloudy sky. Alessandro Di Benedetto needs to cross the Bay of Biscay, with a trajectory that will be upwind, against the wind, and will force him to climb north before turning back down to Les Sables d'Olonne. A moderate constraint if we consider that the skipper of Team Plastique is disabled downwind from the loss of its main downwind sails after rounding Cape Horn. It is still awaited Friday morning between 8 am and noon.
