It's been a fast sailing night, the wind stayed strong all night long and I was able to maintain a satisfying average speed. In a few hours, I'll slow down because of a ridge and Mike is going to come back on me because he will still have good wind, at least until he also falls into the same bubble. It's going to be tough, especially when I sail at 0 knot and Mike's speed is 10 knots! I know it will happen, I'm prepared. What's important in moments like these is to stay calm, breathe and get used to whatever is happening to you. Zen attitude! He gains 20 miles? OK, accept it, and remember you're still 20 miles ahead of him, I usually don't lose my temper. But I can't say I'm the most serene person either, I'm not going to pretend I am and look cool when he starts catching up with me like a cannonball.
