Laure Jacolot is a doctor who works closely with the Pole Finistère, which is the most successful training group with an unmatched record for producing Vendée Globe winning skippers over the last four editions. A sports medicine professional, her day job is as an emergency doctor at a hospital in Quimper, Brittany. She has worked with IMOCA skippers for many years, adhering very clearly to the credo that ‘prevention is better than cure’. And in terms of preparation for the Vendée Globe she stresses that you can never start on the physical preparation too early.
