For a few of the IMOCA skippers who are currently en route to Salvador da Bahia, racing on the Transat Jacques-Vabre which started in Le Havre on Sunday, this biennial two handed Transatlantic classic represents the first real steps towards the 2020 Vendée Globe, three full years before the start of the ninth edition.
