Night ranking: Le Cam and Golding back racing

December 15, 2012

Race time: 35 days, 7 hours

Position: 440 miles to the East Australia Gate

Ranking: 2000hrs (French time)

There were no changes to the leaderboard in the last ranking on Saturday. The leader, Francois Gabart (Macif) lost a couple of miles to Armel Le Cléac’h (Banque Populaire) over the last four hours but continued to gain on everyone else.

Dominique Wavre (Mirabaud) stabilised his losses in miles to Javier Sansó (Acciona 100% EcoPowered), but Sansó is through the Amsterdam Gate, diving south again and seems much better placed.

Just ahead of them, after almost becoming becalmed in the afternoon, Jean Le Cam (SynerCiel) and Mike Golding (Gamesa), in sixth and seventh, are back racing. The low pressure system that has driven Sansó should arrive with 25-30 knot westerlies overnight.
