The first points of the Volvo Ocean Race 2017-18 will be won on Saturday as the fleet closes on the Leg 1 finishing line in Lisbon.
Vestas 11th Hour Racing appears secure now. At 0800 UTC, skipper Charlie Enright and his team had a 35 mile lead, with 40 miles to go to finish and were making nearly 11 knots.
The ETA is around 13:30 UTC for the winning boat.
Make sure you follow along on the blog for updates to the ETA. You can find it here – http://www.volvooceanrace.com/en/raceblog.html
Behind the leading boat, there is a safe margin to second placed MAPFRE and then a real fight between Dongfeng Racing and team AkzoNobel for the third podium position. There is just four miles between them.
Scallywag has a tight grip on fifth place and then another dogfight at the back with Team Brunel just edging out Turn the Tide on Plastic at the moment.
We will have live coverage of the arrivals on www.volvooceanrace.com as well as our Facebook page @volvooceanrace
