The heart of the race is the teams and sailors and team bases have pride of place in the heart of the Race Village, with the Volvo Ocean 65 boats moored in line along the main pier, offering prime viewing opportunities for the public.

This week, the team bases started to take shape. For the current edition of the race, the bases are identical structures forming a kind of pit lane experience. The public have access to the ground floor of each base, where they can learn about the sailors, the teams, and their partners and pick up an autographed poster of each team.

On the pontoons in front of the bases the Volvo Ocean 65 race boats will be moored. The public can get up close and personal with the boats, and learn about these offshore race machines , that the best sailors in the world will push to the limit.
