Brian Thompson’s experience across the Atlantic and around the world is certainly equal to if not ahead of the very best French stars of this Transat Jacques Vabre fleet. Thompson raced his Mini 6.50 across the Atlantic to Brazil in 2001 and is the fastest Briton non stop around the planet as crew on Banque Populaire, circling the globe in 45 days 13 hours. He raced in the Southern Ocean in 2006 with the Volvo Ocean Race winning crew on ABN AMRO. In fact Brian’s first success across the Atlantic was back in 1992 when he set his first record.
